In short

Elite Mature Mingle is a genuine dating site run by High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation. It is free to register and browse; reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership that renews automatically until cancelled. Photos are reviewed, but members' details are not verified, and profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network.

Who runs it

Elite Mature Mingle is a real company's website, with a named operator and published terms. It is run by High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation (file no. 10670515) with its registered office at 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, USA.

The domain was registered in June 2020 and the site has since been rebuilt for professionals over 45. Membership is governed by the members terms, under Delaware law. Those terms include an arbitration clause and a class-action waiver, which is common for US-run subscription services and worth knowing before you pay.

It has no connection with other dating businesses that use "elite" in their name. If you were looking for a different company, check the web address before you register. The About page has more on the company and how this website is written.

What you pay, and when

You can find out whether the site suits you without paying anything. Registering, building a profile, browsing and saying hello are free; you pay when you want to read messages and reply.

The three things that cause most complaints

Most complaints about dating sites anywhere come from renewals, refunds and unfamiliar card charges. Here is how each works on Elite Mature Mingle.

  1. Every membership renews automatically, including the trial. Cancel in Settings > Billing before the renewal date if you don't want to continue. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not delete your profile.
  2. Refunds are limited. The members terms allow a pro-rata refund only when at least 40% of the paid period is unused.
  3. Your statement shows a billing name that may differ from the site name. The checkout shows it; make a note of it, or keep the confirmation email.

What is checked, and what isn't

Photos are checked; people's stories are not. Being clear about the difference is the most useful thing a dating site can tell you.

Item Checked?
Photos Yes, every image is reviewed against the image policy
ID and selfie (run by LEM Verify) Required for some sign-ups, such as those through a VPN or accounts that have been flagged
ID badge Optional and paid, for any member who wants one
Job, income, education No
Age, relationship status, what members write No

The members terms themselves warn that profiles and interactions may not always be what they seem. That is true of every dating site, but we would rather say it than imply otherwise. The profile checks page sets out each check in detail.

Why you may see members from other sites

Elite Mature Mingle shares one member database with partner sites in the same network. Members who joined those sites can see your profile and message you, and each profile shows the site its owner joined from.

This gives you more people to meet. It also means your profile is seen more widely than this site alone, so write and choose photos accordingly. If your name is known in your field, read dating discreetly when people know your name before you build a profile.

Questions to ask any dating site before you pay

A legitimate dating site answers basic questions about itself in public. Use this list on any site you are considering, including this one.

Question Why it matters Elite Mature Mingle
Who runs it, and where? You need a company to hold to account High Intent Media Inc, Delaware, USA
What is free, and what is paid? Avoids paying before you know if anyone suits you Browsing free; messaging paid
Does it renew automatically? Most billing complaints start here Yes, until cancelled in Settings > Billing
What is the refund policy? Tells you the cost of changing your mind Pro-rata, only if at least 40% unused
What does it check? "Verified" can mean very little Photos reviewed; member details not verified
Who else can see my profile? Matters for privacy and reputation Partner sites in the same network
How do I delete my account? You should be able to leave cleanly Avatar > Settings > Delete Account

If a site cannot answer these, or answers them only after you have paid, treat that as your answer.

Warning signs to watch for in a match

A legitimate site can still contain people who are not what they seem. The warning signs below apply on every dating service, and the safest response to any of them is to slow down.

  • They can never manage a video call, or the camera is always "broken".
  • They want to move to WhatsApp or another app within a day or two.
  • They talk about love, or the future, before you have met.
  • They mention investments, cryptocurrency or a trading platform that has done well for them.
  • They have an emergency, a fee or a ticket that only your money can solve.

Any request for money, gift cards or cryptocurrency is the point to stop and report. The safety guide explains how romance and investment scams run and where to report them in the UK, the US and Australia.

Is it right for you?

It may suit you if you are over 45, professional or recently stepped back from a career, and want a considered, unhurried way to meet people in the UK, the US or Australia. People who value privacy and like to know exactly what they are paying for tend to get on well with how the site works.

It may not suit you if you want members whose jobs and incomes have been checked, a matchmaking service that introduces people for you, or a site with organised events. Elite Mature Mingle doesn't offer those, and we would rather you knew now. You must be at least 18 to join (21 in Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska and Wyoming).

How to try it sensibly

  1. Register and browse free first. See whether the people you see are people you would like to meet.
  2. Write a profile you would be comfortable with a colleague reading. How it works covers each step.
  3. If you pay, start with the shortest option and put the renewal date in your diary straight away.
  4. Keep early conversations on the site, and have a video call before meeting anyone.
  5. Meet in public, travel independently and never send money to a match.

If something goes wrong

For a charge you don't recognise, a cancellation that hasn't worked or a profile that worries you, the members help centre is the place to start. Include the email address you registered with and, for a payment, the date and amount.

If someone has asked you for money or you have already sent some, contact your bank first, then report the fraud to the official body where you live. The contact page explains how to reach the help centre and report a profile, and the key facts page puts the essentials on one screen.

Questions people ask

Is Elite Mature Mingle connected to other 'elite' dating sites?

No. It is run by High Intent Media Inc and has no connection with other dating businesses that use 'elite' in their name. The only sharing is with partner sites in its own network, which use the same member database. If you meant to join a different company, check the web address before you register.

Are the people on it real?

Every photo is reviewed and some sign-ups have to pass an ID and selfie check, but what members say about themselves is not verified. The members terms warn that profiles may not always be what they seem. A short video call before you meet anyone is the simplest way to confirm a person matches their pictures.

Can I cancel easily?

Yes. Sign in and go to Settings > Billing, and cancel before the renewal date to stop the next payment. Cancelling keeps your profile; to remove it as well, open your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account. Note the renewal date when you pay so it doesn't catch you out.

Why is there a charge from a name I don't recognise?

Card statements show the billing name displayed at checkout, which may not be the site's own name. Check your confirmation email first. If the charge still makes no sense, contact the members help centre with the date and amount before you dispute it with your bank, so it can be traced.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

Only in part. The members terms allow a pro-rata refund when at least 40% of the paid period is unused, so a refund request made early in a membership has the best chance. A short membership and a diary note of the renewal date are the most reliable way to avoid paying for time you don't use.
